Smoke, Nick Laird

This poem is the English version by Nick Laird of an original poem in written in Persian for “A New Divan” by Reza Mohammadi, via a literal translation by Narguess Farzad and the author. The original poem was inspired by the book of Reflections in Johann Wolfgang von Goethe’s “West-Eastern Divan” (published 1819).
