Fady Joudah is a Palestinian American and a practising physician who lives with his wife and children in Houston, TX. He has published four collections of original poetry and five volumes in translation from the Arabic. For his poetry and translation he has received the Yale Series prize, a Guggenheim Fellowship, the Griffin Poetry prize, the Saif Ghobash Banipal Prize for Arabic Literary Translation award and a PEN USA award among others. His current collection is Footnotes in the Order of Disappearance (Milkweed Editions, 2018).
